Romance and marriage: progress past heart-event gates
Build friendship, read the candidate’s letters and complete their heart events before expecting the relationship meter to keep advancing. The community walkthrough describes a Token of Love after the fourth event, then a Blue Feather proposal after the sixth event and the required story and house upgrades.

When friendship stops moving, check the letter
The community walkthrough describes friendship stopping at an event gate until that event is seen. Check your letters and requests when you reach a new heart level, rather than spending more rare gifts into a blocked stage.
Some events begin by talking to the candidate; others ask you to meet at a place during a time window. Track the request and follow its musical-note marker. Bad weather or a festival can delay an outdoor meeting, so use the letter’s conditions and try a suitable day.
Separate friendship and dating
After the fourth event, the walkthrough distinguishes a Token of Friendship from a Token of Love. The Love route leads toward marriage. The token recipes are described as unlocking after a fourth heart event and Harvest Goddess Chapter 1.
For the Token of Love, the community recipe lists 10 Red Roses and 10 Diamonds, crafted at the Harvest Goddess Statue Altar. Confirm the current recipe in your save before committing those materials. Do not choose a friendship pledge expecting it to act as the proposal item.
Prepare the proposal requirements

Hold the Blue Feather and give it to your chosen lover once the requirements are met. Follow the game’s confirmation prompts. A dating status or six hearts alone does not establish that the house and story prerequisites are complete.

Does another gift fix a stalled heart meter?
First check for a pending heart-event letter and event request. The walkthrough identifies events as progression gates.
Is the Token of Friendship the same as a proposal?
No. The community guide separates the friendship pledge, Token of Love dating route and later Blue Feather proposal.
