Getting started
First tool upgrades: costs, materials and shops
For the first Expert upgrades, bring the existing tool, the refined materials and the crafting fee to the right shop. Farm tools are upgraded in Bloomfield; the Axe and Pickaxe use Quarrytop crafting, and the Fishing Rod uses Priya’s shop in Tidewind. A Watering Can or Hoe upgrade is a practical first choice for a growing farm.
Quick guide
- Choose the tool that is limiting your current daily task.
- Prepare refined Bronze, lumber or stone instead of taking only raw ingredients.
- Carry the existing tool and materials to the appropriate crafting shop.
- Open Craft and check the next-tier recipe.
Compare the first Expert recipes

Each recipe also replaces the preceding tool. These are the community guide’s launch-era Expert recipes; inspect the in-game menu before refining or spending.
Take materials out of storage
The upgrade service uses materials carried in your bag and Animal Bag, according to the guide. It cannot pull from home Storage. If a recipe is unavailable despite owning the right materials, carry them with you and confirm you also own the preceding tool tier.
Match the upgrade to the work you do
The Expert Hoe and Watering Can add a charged action covering up to three tiles. The Expert Watering Can also increases listed capacity from 30 to 50. Choose those first if daily crops are using most of your stamina. Choose the Expert Pickaxe or Axe when harder world resources block your current request.
Later tiers add story requirements. This page covers the first Expert set only; it does not claim that every final-tier or future DLC upgrade is currently available.
